Timothy and his team at Gibraltar Chimney were called urgently in late 2012 by Phillip Morris USA located in Richmond, Virginia. The company was in need of an emergency consultation and inspection for a severely crippled stack atop one of their factory buildings. In order to prevent substantial damage, Timothy and a team flew down to Virginia to oversee plans to demolish and rebuild a new stack.

Working as the assistant project manager, Timothy helped to oversee the creation of lifting plans and demolition instructions for the 100-120 ton stack that needed removal. Additionally, he worked to get immediate approval for the design, fabrication and installation of a replacement chimney. In order to ensure that business production could continue for Philip Morris as normal, Timothy and his team worked 80+ hour weeks to expedite the removal/rebuild process and ensure the safety of all employees on the premise. Despite the highly stressful situation, Timothy was able to manage this $2 million project adroitly.
4. impact
By working to alleviate any issues before they became more aggravated, Timothy and his team saved Philip Morris millions of dollars in lost revenue. Had Gibraltar Chimney not acted as quickly as they did, the crippled stack was bound to fall on an adjacent Marlboro Cigarettes factory building causing exponential damage. Managing his team efficiently, Timothy was able to complete this project within a two month timeframe. Most jobs of this magnitude take four months to complete. Timothy’s dedication and persistence in helping Phillip Morris during this potentially catastrophic time has resulted in a lifelong business partner for Gibraltar Chimney.
